This small unassuming monument is dedicated to Frederick Canon Jones, Moncton's early West End developer. He is credited with the construction of this artificial lake, dating back to 1952. A very tiny bit of Jones Lake can be seen in the distance, behind the trees to the left of the monument. It was unveiled in 1987 by Moncton's mayor at the time, George S. Rideout.
